HANDS is honored to partner with a women’s job skills training center in the heart of Cairo’s garbage collector community. There, women learn one of three marketable skills: weaving, quilting, or paper-making. Designing handicrafts from recycled scraps of fabric and paper, these women are able to earn a living through the sale of their products.
This is a great opportunity to start your holiday shopping with gifts that keep on giving.
The sale will be open Wednesday, November 9, through Saturday, November 12. On Wednesday through Friday, the hours are noon to 7 p.m., while on Saturday, it will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The location is Calvary-St. George’s Church at Gramercy Park (61 Gramercy Park North (21st Street between Park and Lexington Avenues).
