Young Entrepreneurs – Training in the Present for Opportunity in the Future
HANDS and our local partner organization recently held another round of business training for members of the Young Entrepreneurs Program (YEP).
In late March, HANDS staff traveled to Egypt to work with our local partner organization on connecting our cadre of young Egyptian entrepreneurs with the resources needed for their creative ideas to flourish. For five years, HANDS has been investing in training an expanding group of young business people, who are starting or growing their commercial enterprises.
HANDS’ target audience is female artisans and disabled entrepreneurs, two groups that are systematically underserved in most countries. Through the Young Entrepreneurs Program, we make certain that the ideas and passion of these talented young Egyptians are not squandered.

The first day of the March training program focused on general business development. The group engaged in practical exercises that honed their skills regarding licensing, business plan drafting, production efficiency, and product distribution. Day two of the program focused on marketing, which empowered participants with new tools for advertising their products.
HANDS is thankful to the U.S. Embassy in Cairo and other donors for helping us continue this program!
