We hope you will join us for our upcoming Egyptian handicraft sale.

Our friends living in the Moqattam hills above Cairo’s Citadel are hopeful for a better future. However, two important schools that are tools to development are in danger of closing their doors.

These women and young children in the Moqattam community live in poverty and have been dependent upon collecting and sorting through garbage as a means of income. The schools at risk serve this needy community.

However, thanks to the generous donations of people like you, we are able to sponsor schools for the women, girls, and young children of this community. Students at these schools learn weaving, sewing, and pottery skills that help them in crease their income and encourage capacity building in the process. The classes have  given our friends in the community a path to more competitive salaries at Cairo factories.

In order to continue our support for these important schools, we need your help.

Please consider stopping by the Egyptian handicraft sale to give these women, girls, young children, and their families in the Moquattam community a special and long lasting gift: quality of life and a better future. All of the goods and accessories for sale were made by our friends from Moqattam community! Products range from colorful rugs, quilts, bags, potholders, and stuffed animals. Paper goods such as embroidered note cards, bottle holders, gift tags, and one of a kind tie-dyed paper gift bags will also be available!
