In Washington, DC

If you are an undergraduate or graduate student with an interest in Egypt or the Middle East, a desire to make a significant contribution and a willingness to be an integral part of a small but committed team, HANDS is the place for your Washington internship! As an intern, you’ll be helping to contribute to the peace and stability of the Middle East by supporting development work in Egypt and educational exchange and dialogue programs in the US.

Past internship activities have included: grant writing, Dialogue and Conflict Resolution Program management, new business development, website development, alternative trade marketing, and sales & online research.

Commitment Period: Summer (3 months), Semester (4 months), Year (9-12 months)

Benefits: Lots of experience, a fun working environment and the satisfaction of knowing you’re working to make a difference! We will also offer you an opportunity to attend local seminars and conferences with occasional travel opportunities to HANDS events in the US. Most interns are eligible for college credit through their university internship programs.

In Egypt

Occasionally, opportunities arise for volunteer/internship placement with our partner organizations in Egypt. The opportunities vary from three weeks, to three months, to one year or more, and may be paid or unpaid. Past internships have included teaching, proposal writing and working with the handicapped.
