Get ready for HANDS’ 2023 Fall Benefit Brunch, taking place on Saturday, October 14th, 2023, featuring guest speakers, awardees, an exciting silent auction, and more! This event is dedicated to supporting vocational training programs for unemployed youth in Egypt. Make sure to mark your calendars for a truly remarkable event!

Where will this event be held?

  • The Hilton Mclean Tysons Corner will be the venue for this inspiring occasion.

At what time will the event take place?

  • It will be from approximately 11am to 2pm.

What is happening at our special event?

  • We will start off with a silent auction showcasing Egyptian handicrafts, giving you the opportunity to acquire your favorite pieces. This will be followed by a program featuring guest speakers, awardees, and a delicious brunch with Egyptian music.

How can you participate?

Who is the Egyptian-American Changemaker Awardee this year?

We are thrilled to introduce our esteemed recipient of the Egyptian Changemaker Award: Dina Daniel!  Dina is not only the founder but also the talented chef behind Fava Pot, a renowned culinary venture. What initially began as a humble food truck business has now flourished into multiple locations across DC and Virginia, where Dina proudly serves authentic Egyptian cuisine.

Dina’s guiding principle for Fava Pot has always been “Eat Healthy for a Good Cause.” In pursuit of her dream of establishing this restaurant, she left Egypt in 2004, and since then, Fava Pot has enjoyed tremendous success.

There will be live music throughout the event: Maggie Yacoub and members of her band will provide live jazz music, including some Arabic favorites, during brunch and DJ Basbousa will be spinning your favorite Egyptian tunes from yesterday and today during our silent auction.

We look forward to seeing you there!

More information regarding our special guest speakers is coming in soon. Stay tuned…
