Sarah Naguib, PhD, is an Egyptian-American neuroscientist and postdoctoral fellow at Weill Cornell Medicine, where her research focuses on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases. Sarah’s family has been supporters of Hands Along the Nile for many years, but her involvement truly began at age 16, when she founded Laptops for Egypt, an initiative that raised more than $30,000 to provide laptops to schools in two of HANDS’ parnter organizations in the Zabaleen community outside Cairo. The experience sparked a lasting commitment to giving back to her Egyptian community and using education as a tool to create opportunity. Now, more than a decade later, Sarah is honored to join the Board of Hands Along the Nile and continue supporting an organization that has been part of her life for many years!
