Join us as we sell beautiful crafts made by artisans at the Association for the Protection of the Environment (APE), a job skills training program for women living and working in the garbage recycler’s community in Cairo. The handicrafts are made from clean, recycled materials.
At the training center, young women learn marketable skills (such as weaving, quilting, or recycled paper-making), in addition to reading and writing. They are paid fairly for their work, and the proceeds from the sale will enable more women to attend the training and start a home business.
We hope you can join us!
The event will take place on May 13, 14, and 15 at St. Mary & St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church in Manhattan (241 E. 62nd Street, New York, NY 10065 (between Second and Third Avenues)).
Friday, May 13: 12-7 pm
Saturday, May 14: 12-7 pm
Sunday, May 15: 10 am-2 pm
