Simrin Arora is a rising junior at George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs, with double minors in Political Science and Religion, aspiring to pursue a career in international law. This summer, Simrin is interning with Hands Along the Nile and the National Council on US-Arab Relations. Her academic foundation includes courses such as “U.S. Foreign Policy in the Middle East” and “Islam and the West,” taught by distinguished professors, including Seyyed Nasr, which has provided her with a comprehensive understanding of the region’s political and cultural dynamics. Simrin has conducted extensive research on MENA regional issues, including analysis of U.S. foreign policy toward the Kurdish population and policy recommendations regarding the Houthis in Yemen. Through her internship with HANDS, she aims to apply her academic knowledge while working to improve the lives of Egyptians.
