Mia Smith is a B.A. student in Arabic and International Relations at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom. As part of her studies, Mia spent a year abroad in Amman, Jordan, where she studied Modern Standard Arabic and the Levantine dialect intensively. At Exeter, she works part-time as a Project Coordinator for her university’s Career Zone in addition to her role as Events Secretary for the on-campus Arabic and Middle Eastern Society. While at HANDS, Mia has been responsible for organizing our new online seminar, Understanding Contemporary Egypt, in addition to helping with constituent correspondence and updating the donor database.
